Dakota Blue Richards was born in England. She's best known for her performances as Lyra Belaqua on 'The Golden Compass' and Franky Fitzgerald in the third Generation of British teenager drama Skins. Additionally, she's an energetic performer on stage. She has appeared in 'Arcadia,' 'A Streetcar Named Desire" along with many other films. A London native, Richards grew up in Sussex. Richards attended a few theater classes at school however she was able to take the majority of acting classes on weekends. Additionally, she opted to skip classes in order to audition. The Golden Compass was her first on-screen appearance as an actor. Though the film got only a moderate response, Richards received widespread positive reviews on her acting.
